Finca Los Guayabos is a second-generation producing coffee farm with sustainable practices, and a cherished family tradition. The farm was initially planned to be an estate to raise Nat and Rosamond’s family. However, Rosamond began learning about coffee in 1978 as a passion project intended to connect the bicultural family with the heritage and culture of Costa Rica. Over the next 40 years, the young family grew alongside the coffee that Rosamond planted from seed. Since 2009 the farm has maintained the prestigious Rainforest Alliance Certification and Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality rating, and still employs the same local managerial staff since the farm’s beginning 40 years ago.

The property is located in an area of Costa Rica that has retained its roots, making it unique from other tourist-driven parts of the country. The town of Santa Barbara de Heredia is surrounded by farms (quintas) and inhabited by locals, preserving its traditional family essence. The town and surrounding area stand in tranquil contrast with the bustling capital city of San Jose, which one can see clearly in the valley to the south.
